PUPPEH x 2

cimg48871

Blue Leash = Gabe (male); Red Leash =Maggie (female)

Mom and Dad had a few quick chores to do out front so Pruett and I were taking a nap in our crates. Mom came in and got Pruett but not me. Hmmm. Then I heard Pruett outside SCREAMING and whining! I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I could hear Mom excited over something. Then a little while later Mom showed up at my crate door and put me on a leash. I went outside to see the little creatures shown here. I wasn’t too sure WHAT to think. I barked a little bit as an introduction but they didn’t bark back. They seemed pretty scared of little ol’ me. Or it could have been scared of the crazy Pru still barking like a mad man in the background. Dad was trying to calm him down but he kept squealing like a pig. I took note of this and decided to keep quite and I was allowed to investigate.

Um...you want me to do what with these fuzzballs????

Um...you want me to do what with these fuzzballs????

Mom and Dad encouraged me to say hello and kept asking me to be gentle.  The puppehs weren’t sure what to think of me and I certainly didn’t know what to think of them. They were like Pruett, but tiny, and shy. Their human told us that they were adopted at Christmas from a shelter. There were 8 in their litter. When the human went to pick them out there were 3 left and they took all 3 home with them. Their other sibling lives with family near by. Their owner says they are border collie mixes that are 3 months old. Leave a comment and let us know what you think they might be. They seemed smaller than that to me. I was never that small!!!

Mom and Dad gave me a lot of praise for sitting quietly and encouraged me to be braver and say hello to the human and the puppehs.

This is me being brave!

This is me being brave!

Pruett was still acting crazy and we eventually had to take him inside. He got once chance to be nice to the puppies but they got scared by all his energy. We are both used to playing with big, older dogs. I got caught up in his energy and scared the puppies too. :( Sorry puppies. I’m bad about that.

I'm sorry I scared you little puppy.

I'm sorry I scared you little puppy.

I got a little jealous though. Mom was totally gushing and they were kissing all over Mom and Dad. Mom and Dad kept praising me though and I realized I didn’t have anything to be jealous about.

Gabe and Maggie will hopefully get to come over and play when they get older. They only live around the corner. Grow big and strong little pups – can’t wait to PLAY!!!!

After the puppies left Dad said he was really really proud of me and that made my day. :)

Those puppies sure did like Mom and Dad.

A Ball of Patriotism

Then I jump to someplace they can't reach me. These days though there aren't too many places like that. :( Sometimes I have to use kitteh intimidation tactics - as seen here.

Oh, Noes! The snow is melting!

Sadly the few inches of snow we got on Tuesday is slowly melting away. Mom and Dad let us have a fun play in the front yard at lunch yesterday. Pruett really loves the snow! It made him a little CRAZY! Click here to watch.

Oh, hi there!

Join me in savoring the last bit of snow we will probably see this winter. :)

Doggy Containment Gate w/ Kitteh Passageway

For some reason the humans think that us dogs need to be contained and restricted to certain areas of the house. The object below appeared several days ago to help achieve the goal of containment. It has a nifty little door for the kittehs (sadly they don’t always like our company). Mom and Dad set it up in a wider opening using the extensions but it couldn’t contain the fun of us GSDs so they moved it to the smaller opening in the stairway.

Daphne and I can squeeze through that kitteh door if we are on the downstairs side (FYI – the humans do not like this tactical move) but the humans have informed us that soon our fun will be over as we grow every day and will no longer fit. :( Why do they always have to ruin the fun. We added a link over on the right in the Favorite Things area.

Oops! I was caught on the wrong side of the gate. The problem with sneaking upstairs is you can't fit through to sneak back downstairs. :)
