I had my first weekend at the track. We loaded up Friday and headed to Kershaw, SC. Below are some pics from the track. My parents were worried I’d be afraid of all the noises but I wasn’t! I didn’t flinch once at those cars revving up. I was born to be a track dog! I sure did get tuckered out though! At first I had a tough time taking a time out to sleep. But by day two I’d figured out how to tune it all out and get some rest. I made a lot of new people and dog friends! I can’t wait to go back. I also discovered tug of war…sort of. Technically tug of lanyard. But Mom went and bought me my own real tug of war rope today.
- We piled in the car Friday night to drive to Kershaw, SC for my first track event!
- First things, first. I had to check out some of the cars. This one sure could use a brake job. If you ask me I think they are trying a little to hard with this one.
- I got bored looking at cars so I thought I’d go back to the garage to play. GRRR! Take that Kung Fu Dog!
- I quickly wore myself out defeating the Kung Fu dog so I thought a nap on Mom’s lap was a good idea. I won’t fit there much longer!
- Ok. I’m recharged. This hedgehog’s got nothin’ on me! I’M A GSD!
- I’ll make sure to watch over this garage and keep my parents safe.
- Who would try to mess with a dog with a face like this?!
- I’m finally starting to look like a real GSD. Hopefully my ears will stay like this soon. People don’t know what I am! Some said Chow, some said Newfoundland, some said bear cub!
- After I watched Dad run a few laps, I was pretty sure I could handle the track. I hopped in the car and realized I had a big problem! How was I to reach the pedals and see out the window?!
- I begged and begged for Dad to try to figure out a way that I could drive. But no luck. :(
- So I went back to what I do best…roaming the floors for something delicious!
- SCORE!
- My new friend Mars gave me a disgusted look as I happily devoured everything I could find on the floor. He said he was much too mature for such childish behavior.
- Mom thought this might be more suitable for me eat. It wasn’t nearly as delicious but it would do.
- It sure is fun being outside with my family!
- I was taking a nap and felt something sniff me so I opened my eyes. I thought I might still be dreaming though…
- A very gentle greyhound was peering down at me.
- I got up and said hello. He was very friendly but not very playful. He had already had plenty of racing and playing days. He said it was his time to just relax.
- He sure was tall and skinny! We sure make an odd couple!
- I wave goodbye after my first weekend at the track. It was a huge success! (notice my cute little white tuft)
